BadBadNotGood – BBNG2

This morning while sippin’ on my coffee and checking over some of the acts that are going to be performing at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival this year, I came across these three young cats that mix classical Jazz training with a love for Hip Hop, and combine the two to make some dope ass music. Their notoriety began with a YouTube video in which they re-interpreted a couple Odd Future tracks (How can you not dig a jazz version of “AssMilk”? And did it so well that Tyler tracked ‘em down and joined in):

Since then, these 3 dudes have put their own jazz flare on tracks from Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, and Kanye West, as well as some super dope original pieces and improvised jams. Their latest project, BBNG2, is available for free 99 right now at their bandcamp page. The best part about the project? This:

No one above the age of 21 was involved in the making of this album. This album was recorded in one 10 hour session.

Stream/Download down south and broaden your horizons a bit. And if you’re in Canadaland, it might be worth the trip to catch these guys live.

UPDATE: Aright, so their performance at the Wpg. Jazz Fest was cancelled, but follow them on Facebook and Twitter for updates and tour dates.
