Lyndsay J – Dear Mr. Rae

We don’t slow things down too much here at the ol’ D.o.D., so when we do we make sure it’s for a damn good reason. For the past few years Lyndsay Johnston has been lending her incredible pipes to what I consider to be one of the most promising Canadian Hip Hop acts period, Conscience. While on tour with Wu-Tang’s own Raekwon earlier this year, The Chef (known for looking north when it comes to new talent) requested that Lyndsay put a little Wu twist on the song “Dear Mr. Gaye” by Teena Marie, and holy shit did she deliver. I have no doubts that you’ll be hearing a LOT from this incredibly talented woman in the near future, whether it be solo work like this or ripping shit up with the dudes of Conscience. Either way I’m excited to see what she does, I mean if you’ve got Rae on your side you must be pretty dope.

You might as well peep this video of Lyndsay with her group Conscience while you’re here, right? Right.
